Authentic artisan-crafted vintage pashmina scarf purchased directly from a remote, off-grid Mayan village during a trip to the southern tip of Mexico in the early 1990s. This unique statement piece was meticulously handmade by local indigenous artisans using traditional, non-electric methods, including manual pedal sewing machines. Features a vibrant, eye-catching geometric diamond and triangle pattern block design in brilliant vertical stripes of hot pink, turquoise blue, bright orange, and royal purple. The borders are finished with thick, hand-knotted fringe tassels that match each colorful pattern column. Crafted from locally sourced cotton, the expert artisanal textile weave gives the fabric an incredibly soft, smooth, cashmere-like feel against the skin. Because this item was crafted in a traditional village setting without electricity, it is a one-of-a-kind piece carrying a beautiful cultural history.
